Position Detector Machine

The present invention provides a device and a method for detecting position of a machine such as a robot, which may be under motion. To detect the position of the robot, the invention adopts determining a distance travelled by the robot followed by determining vector location and orientation of the robot. In an embodiment, the invention takes into consideration inputs from quadrature encoders placed orderly on the robot and quadrature decoders inside the chip to determine distance travelled by the robot along X/Y directions. In an embodiment, the invention takes into consideration inputs from a magnetometer as disposed on the robot to determine the vector location and orientation of the robot.
